Who am I?

Hey, I’m Lander Depoortere, filmmaker and videographer, with an unhealthy obsession for visuals and storytelling. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been hooked on film and video. The spark ignited when I watched The Lord of the Rings—films that didn’t just pull me in but made me realize: this is what I want to do. Since then, my life has revolved around cameras, editing software, and endless discussions about cinema.

To me, film is much more than a collection of beautiful images. It’s a blend of atmosphere, emotion, and rhythm. Whether it’s a short film, documentary, commercial, or branded content, I’m always searching for the right visual language to bring a story to life. My focus is on cinematic visuals that make an impact, with carefully crafted shots, lighting, and pacing.

While my main passion lies in cinematography and editing, I also have experience directing when a project calls for it—helping shape the visual style and storytelling from concept to execution.

What I create

As a filmmaker, videographer, and editor, I work on a variety of projects, from fiction and documentaries to brand storytelling, aftermovies, music videos, and commercial content with a cinematic touch. My goal? Not just creating videos, but crafting films that resonate. No generic, forgettable productions—only visual stories that draw you in and stay with you.

I shoot with the Blackmagic 6K and Sony FX30, cameras that give me the freedom to play with light, composition, and movement exactly as I envision. Post-production happens in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, where I fine-tune every project to have the right tone and energy.
